The Waynesboro Historical Society has a Genealogy Committee. This committee is chaired by Ruth Gembe, who is well known for her work with genealogy and historical documents. Ruth has associations with the Kittochtinny Historical Society, the Pennsylvania Room at Waynesboro's Alexander Hamilton Memorial Library and the Coyle Free Library in Chambersburg.
Part of this committee's charge is to maintain and catalog the extensive collection of genealogical documents housed by the society.
Members with an interest in genealogy are invited to join the committee. For more information, please call Ruth Gembe at (717) 762-3018, e-mail her at rgembe@hotmail.com, or leave a message expressing an interest in the committee at the historical society, (717) 762-1747.
Genealogical research is available and may involve a fee of $5-25, depending on the time and materials required. You may contact the research group via the Society's email address, mail, or telephone.
